    You will be asked about previous medical conditions. Your previous history with your hearing certainly qualifies as something that needs to be declared.
    In my experience fire department entry-level hearing examinations are pretty elementary. There is a good chance they would not identify your condition.
    This presents an ethical dilemma for you. If you don’t declare your hearing loss you can be terminated at any time in your career for lying. Declaring it runs the risk of failing your medical exam.
