    PC,
I too enjoy the lively debates. I don’t have all of the answers. And believe me I have made tons of mistakes……probably more than my fair share. I hope you get some help to kick the habit. I would encourage you to edit your posts so the kids don’t get the wrong impression. In turn, I will edit mine.

    Stay safe my friend,

for the posts not related to the guy that smokes pot, thanks for your input. I have an update on what has happened. Two friends of mine who are members of the department I tested for (rank will be left out) spoke with the Civil Service Commission. The Commission reviewed my Polygraph test and informed them of a couple of important things. 1.) The theft, being an issue 7 years ago, is something that happened in the past. Unfortunately now that the decision has been made and cannot be undone I will have to wait, but fortunately next time around (2 years from now) they feel I will have a good chance at continuing on in the testing process. 2.) I passed the polygraph test, the only thing that failed me was my admission to 2 things.. Use of drugs 5 times in the past (and yes, it was 5 times... I remember reading something mentioning 5 = 20; which if this is the case, I should say I used it only once.), and the other thing was the undetected theft that I informed them on. Just as a side note; the theft was from one employer, my first at age 16-17. It is on my adult record because I was caught the first week I turned 17. I have the option of having the offense expounged, however I don't think this will make any difference during a polygraph, background investigation, or any applicable hiring steps. Any experienced opinions on the expoungement?

      Thank you.

There is no such thing as an expunged record when it comes to police and fire backgrounds. Rember all of those forms you signed? They gave the department the right to open anything related to you.
Not signing the forms will result in immediate disqualification.

Does Canada not have random drug testing?
