Applications for the position of Firefighter are now available!
Applications are available December 1st through December 15, 2006.
Individuals interested in becoming a Firefighter are encouraged to apply online at www.accessclarkcounty.com. For additional information contact the Clark County Human Resources office at (702) 455-4565 or the "Firefighter Recruitment Hotline" at 455-CCFD (455-2233).
The The minimum requirements to apply for the position of Firefighter are listed below. Once your application has been reviewed, Human Resources will provide notification by letter or e-mail that you have been invited to participate in the written test. The written test will be held on January 26, 2007, at the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel. Applicants with the highest test scores are then invited to continue with the hiring process.
Competition for firefighter openings is extremely competitive so preparation is crucial!
High School Diploma or GED.
Must possess a valid "Class C" Nevada driver’s license at time of appointment, including the first day of rookie school.
Vision must be correctable and within the guidelines specified in order to hold a current Nevada Driver's License.
Height in proprotion to weight.
Physically and mentally fit to perform vigorous basic skill requirements.
Applicants are not eligible to apply if they have been convicted of a felony.

Candidates must be in excellent physical condition.
Employment is contingent upon the results of a background investigation.
Employment is contingent upon the results of a physical examination, to include a pulmonary test, and a psychological evaluation performed by our examining physician.
Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug test.
It is a condition of employment that any fire service employee hired into the Fire Department after January 1, 1993, not use tobacco in any form.
All Firefighters are hired at the level of Firefighter I with an annual starting salary of $44,565.30.
