Thats plenty of time. You'll probably finish a little earlier than that anyway. It'll only take about 20 mins to get from the test to the airport.

OK I need help figuring something out. I am flying into portland on the 31st for the test. My test will start at 10 AM on Wed. There is a 4:15 pm flight out of portland that same day, is that enough time to get to the airport if the test gets over with at 2?

books
You can get them on line at amazon.com or if in the PDX area, Powell's books may have them. I'm 98% sure there isn't any fire questions. Check with the recruiter for specifics

And your saying that there are no fire questions? On the TVF&R there is nothing but fire questions from their study guide

PDX test
Get the ARCO and BArron's study guides. It isn't an open book, it's a typical civil service exam: read comp, math, sciences, no fire ?'s

I believe that it is a memorization-recall type of test. I might be wrong though

Ogomez, can you tell us what the structure of the test is for PF&R? Is it an open book type test, or memorization-recall type test? Any info you can give would be helpful. Thanks.

test
I think it is 4 hrs ( don't quote me)
if you pass then a 3 person interview, pass then the PT test, then the capt interview.

I just called human resources and they told me that was all they were collecting at the moment. After the test they will start accepting more information
