The background consists of a finger print/records check for the District at the municipal building off Indiana Ave. (where the DMV is). In addition to that you have to go to your state law enforcement acency and obtain a background check. Much the same as the city's. If your a MD resident you have to go to your local state police barracks on which ever day they do finger prints and pay $10. Once you have done that and completed your blue book thats it. There is no polygraph.
