How do you go about getting a firefighter job in NJ?

go to NJ DOP's website now! , print out and application, fill it out and have it in the mail ASAP. the test is comming up, application were due on Aug 31st, and they just extended the dead line a few more weeks. everything you need to know is on the app. the last time the test was given out was about 3 or 4 years ago.

Do you need to live in NJ to get hired

well it depends on the department, most require you to live in the town you are applying for. some don't. there are non civil service departments that host there own tests and have their own rules, and require training prior to getting hired and such.
