Anyone heard from Sac Metro regarding their entry-level interviews? They gave a "ranking" on the written and I haven't heard how many they will interview off of the list. They seem to be leaving us in the dark.

I guess it wasn't high enough. The Fireteam test is the only one I struggle with. I scored okay, 82-83, but not high enough for a Chiefs I guess. This type of testing will hopefully not continue to grow in popularity. Skipping the 1st oral in lieu of the Fireteam test does not make sense...IMHO.

Any idea how many letters they sent out? Did they interview the top 100 from the written?

Heard a rumor they interviewed and tested enrty level medics skills before emt's, so i would assume that this academy is going to be a mixture of emt's and medics. But to completly answer your question, they are hiring both medics and emt's.

Adam, I am 27 and have been testing steadily for about 2 to 2 1/2 years. Currently I am a Paid-Call Engineer with the Wheatland Fire Authority. What about you? You from sac area? Look forward to seeing u there. --Scott--

cool.. im 22 and have only been testing for 6 months. i recently finished a jr college academy in modesto as well as my as degree. unfortunatly no experience just education. im not from the immediate sac area but i live about a hour south in tracy.. i feel like a miracle story getting this far this soon.. however im not getting my hopes up and putting all my eggs in one basket incase any thing falls through. im still testing up until the formal job offer. good luck and ill see u at the orientation--Adam

                          adam,
congrats on the geeting an offer so soon. It seems it usually takes people 2-5 years before they get hired. See you next week.

This from a recent posting to my son Rob on how things can change:

I just had to share the good news that after 5+ years, my husband received a conditional offer from SMFD this past Friday. I just want to encourage everyone that is trying, to keep trying. It will happen.

Thanks to Captain Rob's coaching, my husband finally got a job offer with a department that he has tested with a total of 6 times (just for this one department). It really helped him get his interview's going in the right direction and landing an offer with a department that he actually applied with a total of 6 times. My husband and I both feel that what really turned things around for him was getting private coaching with Capt. Rob. Thanks Rob!

                            Keep trying!
