  • Always a Paramedic??

    Hi...

My husband is a Paramedic and is going into the LAFD tower. We heard from friends that work for LAFD, that my husband will have to work as a Paramedic once his rookie year is done and he is fine with that.

But what about down the road, if he wants to go into other avenues, like Arson etc...will he be able to?

Or what about becoming a Captain, or what if he just wants to be a Firefighter?

I know this is all wayyyyyyyyy down the road, but if someone could explain how it works for a Paramedic, that would be great!

    Thanks

He has plenty to keep him busy with the tower and probation. I would worry about the other stuff later.

For the record they will probably plug him as a paramedic (one of the reasons the hired him in the first place). Down the orad he will be abe to test for Arson, Captain etc....

ONE DAY AT A TIME. The tower and probation is going to take all of his energy and free time.
