The woman who scheduled my written exam seemed confused. Can anyone confirm that the new exam date is the 22nd?

There's a proposal floating around, and it's just a proposal, for future new hire FF/Emt's to be trained to EMT-Enhanced in the academy. They would be minimal staffing for an ambulance. No more EMT-B. This is good for the non-medics out there, since the dept will hire regular FF's. The downside is if you don't care for EMS, you won't just be a basic w/o much responsibility, you'll be an EMT-E, giving drugs, starting lines, providing CPAP, potentially as the lead provider. If you like EMs, then you'll enjoy the increased scope of practice w/o having to go to medic school. Or did they do it just from your personal history sheet?
Hope this helps! Good luck!

Also I was curious, does it help if you are a certified NR-EMT or does their preference only pertain to Intermediates and Paramedics?
Thanks
