Hi all!
I am currently in my junior year at college in a public safety program and am looking for an internship in the fire service. Most career departments don't have internships readily available to students, thats why I am asking for some help.
I know who I want to contact, I just need to be able to present the information to the right people. How should I contact these people initially? Should I be aggressive with my approach or see what they think about before I get too far into things? This means a lot to me and I feel like I can help them as well as learn a hell of a lot at same time. How can I convince them I feel this way? How can I get a Fire Prevention Officer or Fire Investigator interested in me even if they've have never thought about an intern before? Will these people feel pleased or annoyed to hear from a student like myself?
I will take any help I can get!
