Hello All,
I’m looking for someone who works for/Is familiar with DCFD to answer some questions. I’m currently a Firefighter/Paramedic in Maryland and am interested in their department. I’ve talked to the recruiter and heard good things. Im looking for more Information to help make my decision.
I currently work for a small dept in Maryland in a shrinking area. I do like my job but I’m always looking for improvement.
Thank you.
1. Overall, Would you say it’s a good Department to work for if you are ALS? I do like being a paramedic, But I want to fight fire and have opportunities to do so.
2. What is the promotional process like? How long does it typically take? assuming you’re a good employee.
3. How does the department compare to surround Departments? (Montgomery, PG, Fairfax?)
Any additional Information is much welcomed. Thank you very much.
Also, I apologize if this is not the most appropriate topic to post this under.
