4-6 weeks from date of test. I've called the testing hotline and they will not give a specific date.

So tonight wasn’t really related to the most recent exam it’s for the next one they put on, which they want to do in 18 months but not sure if that will actually happen.

It could happen in 18 months but it depends on budget, someone asked if they would dip into band 2 for the current exam and the answer was maybe, if they don’t have the money for another exam they will exhaust V Band and Band 1 the move to band 2 but don’t count on it.

              Banding for most recent exam.
              V Band: 101-110%
              Band 1: 90-100%
              Band 2: 80-89%

No idea how many will be in each band or when our scores will be sent to us, the capitan tonight said he’s asked the exam unit and they haven’t given him an answer.

Once everyone is in a band everyone is EQUAL, so a 90 is the same as a 100 in a band 1. It’s random selection for medical and background. After completing them it’s on to the selection interview

The interview is strictly a selection interview, it isn’t scored, you are banded based on your written. After the selection interview you are placed on a wait list for an academy, invited to family day, 48 per academy class with 10-15 alternates. Both Pomona and Del Valle for academy classes.

They are voting on the 48/96 and are expected to do a trial.

Also LA city is planning on testing again early next year.

              That’s all I got.

So if you're in Band 1 and can pass medical and backgrounds, you've got a pretty good shot it sounds like, especially if the interview isn't scored.

Thanks for the info, it’s gonna be interesting how they band people considering 70% is weighted on the HR. Portion

Wonder how much they're going to consider previous experience or having a California basic academy Candidate A passes everything but only has their emt. Candidate B passes everything but has a basic academy, some ems experience.

That's good for those of us out of state who don't have access to 1000 academy locations lol

Nope, pretty sure after these two lateral classes you’re the same as the trainee. Also said you used to have to wait till probation was over to be sent to medic school they are de sending recruits after 6 months.

I’d say yes, you get a bump. They’re freezing current medics in their spots and aren’t letting them bid out. The 96 medics being brought on in the next two academies are only a temporary fix, not an end all.
