  • So if I?m understanding correctly it just a day to go into the office to get an understanding of your physical with Dr Wong. Makes sense I guess. I?m still going to bring gym clothes just Incase. Hopefully the follow up with him can be scheduled quickly. It would be pretty sweet to make the June academy. Thanks for the info

Exactly that. And yea definitely bring your gym stuff in your car just in case.

Also, chisox I have a confident feeling they are setting us up for this all to be completed this month so we can start it June. Just a bird in my ear suggesting it.

whens your medical? You going tomorrow?

Lots of luck involved with getting the call, as can be the case for many fire positions. Just have to set yourself up for success and hope for the best.
Unfortunately, just to get on the referral is a lot of luck and chance. Like it?s called, it?s a lottery.

but once your in the referral, the what ever it takes I speak of is staying on your feet for anything that needs to be done to not delay your hiring process.

just stay positive, hope you the best

            • For those that got the invite for medical, you are just going to the academy to schedule your medical appointment which is not done with Dr Wong or even that day. I forgot the name of company but you will be doing the medical appointment with them. You will only see dr wong for a follow up and that's only if you had any issues with some of the tests you took. Its is very important to get there as early as possible. You get to pick your medical date in order of you arrival. That could mean the difference between making the next class or not. The people that complete all steps first is the order that the class is filled. Your number or preference means nothing after initial processing.

                • Engine 85, approximately how many are left in the pool from the 3rd referral?

                  Comment

                  • After no shows and drug failures there was approximately 300. Of that 85 are in class now. I would guess a little less than 200. But that is a guess, it?s hard getting concrete information from the city.

                            • engine85 Any luck for a Vet who is 15,000 something?? This is my second test being super far back - I have 5 more years before I?m too old. Finishing up the hiring for CPD right now but may not take it. My true passion was being a fireman. I have a great job currently but would love to know if I stand a chance here!

                              • I don?t think 15000 will get it, sorry. If you take the cpd job the pension time transfers over if you get a good number next list. There is a cpd guy in the Fire Academy now who left the cpd after 14 years. Good luck.
