what?s the deal with testing and interviewing for other departments while on probation? I?ve been with my medium sized Southern California department for about 19 months and my wife was offered a work opportunity in the Bay Area that we can?t pass up. How will being on probation affect my chances? If I get on a hiring list and they realize I?m on probation at my other department, will I be passed over? I have a good reputation at my current department. To clarify, this isn?t my initial hire probation, rather my 12 month firefighter II probation. Our total probationary period is 24 months.
