What's wrong with the FPSI? You get the material in advance and all the time you want to study it. Seems like whoever wants it most has a better chance with that.

Definitely gonna apply. Although I'm hoping for Dallas or Houston to pan out. Definitely would rather be in TX vs CA

Stoked to hear this! I got the email the other day while at work and am getting ready to make it happen. So does anyone know how the FCA test vs the psi test is from before??

Its the same test from last time, but if you took and passed the test from 02/16-01/17 you don?t have to take it again they are going to use your previous score.

I read that also but I'm not sure when I actually took that test. I just threw out all my old expired paperwork at the beginning of the year. I suppose I'll give the test people a call to find out of they keep track of the scores or if I need to retest. I'll keep this updated with any news concerning that because I'm sure there is others who have possibly done this also.

Did i see that there is some preference given to paramedics? This is the first time I have looked at the job posting and was wondering what the life of a paramedic is in the LAFD if anyone has any insight?
                        Thanks

I called around to the testing places and i found out my date of previous test is still valid.....you also do not need a hard copy when you apply.

So according to the job bulletin, even if you score high on the FCA, you're not guaranteed to move on since they use stratified random sampling?

That is correct. Look at this from this way. I took the test never thinking I had a chance. Somehow I?m in their tower now. Best 75 dollars I?ve ever spent
