Thanks for all the great info.

A couple more questions. I know GR said they got to #174 for the first class. Do you anticipate them going through approximately the same number for the next class?

Unrelated question, but where did you see most people fail in the hiring process? Medical, background, etc? If I get my shot I just want to leave as little to chance as possible.

No prob bro, I know it sucks waiting but totally worth it once ball starts rolling. The Physical fitness really isnt that big of a deal. We had people show up in not so great shape and theyve improved over course of academy.

The initial PFT test was the second or third day (I forget) but they line the entire class at the gate and have us run down pennypack/state rd and back (we currently run on a trial behind academy due to covid) as long as your below 18 mins your good, youll get your balls busted and look like a bum if your running 18 min mile and half tho. From there you line up with a partner and do hand release push ups (they want to make sure youre going all the way down. I think theyre easier) youll do as many as possible in 2 mins. I would say avg is like 35-45. Than sit ups, same thing 2 mins as many as possible avg prob like 40-50. Our initial pt test we didnt do pull ups Theres only 3 pull up bars for the whole class and theyre extra credit. There were some ppl who werent able to do any.

The biggest thing with the PFT test is to improve your scores with following pt tests. We've had three since we have been in. You obv want a strong showing for your initial pt test so you dont look like a bum. The PT instructors are good at what they do and will have you improve and get stronger throughout acad. We use sandbags for alot of workouts and run alot. let me know if you have any other questions.

There is a medic class begining also so thats a good sign that your class will still be going just pushed back.

I attached the height weight table. For our class, we had orientation, than like 3 weeks later was medical where you have to hit target weight. If you dont meet weight you wont move on. You have some time before next class start working out now because theyll be on you if youre out of shape. We run alot!

Im not sure what PFT is. If your able to let me know what it is I can let you know info.

I am also curious about height/weight and PFT. I have heard different things from people who are currently in/graduated so far.

Secondly, when do they do the height and weight measuring? Is that part of the medical exam or at the start of the academy? Anybody have numbers for the PFT?

    Sorry for so many questions.

I’m in academy now. Only rumor is that 199 might be starting in September or October. But everything is speculation in academy. So nobody knows yet.

Yes, 197 graduates the 13th (at the academy with no family bc of covid) we go to fire side in late Aug. As far as I have heard the 199 is still planned for sept/oct. They actually had a medic orientation tonight for a medic class that starting soon. I thinks thats def. good news theyre still hiring as planned. Ill keep ear hustling and keep you guys in the loop. I know it sucks waiting!

And thanks for the quick response. This popping up made a stressful time even more stressful. Stay safe
I know currently they are running 2 classes at a time, one class graduates pretty soon

As for the $5 mil budget cut, they said they already adjusted things and their is still 2 classes planned in the pipeline. Fingers crossed on the residency requirement not passing.
