Question. If my ranking is 2xx, and I get called into a interview and do well, will my ranking change?

No. The only way your rank would change is if they failed to credit you for some sort of extra points.

My rank is late 2 hundreds I work for the city so I run into firefighters as well as fd civilians...I hear different things from all only thing that's set in stone was the 40 to 50 people a class aside from the usual 80 to a 100, but I was also told them people that quit or don't make it the first day are replaced a day or 2 later in the academy depending on how many ..and that for every person they go thru 2 on the eligibility list so all we can do is wait honestly I know people who are in who claimed bilingual and were never tested not sure if the points were even awarded..the list out now was set with points awarded except for the bilingual which they supposedly test if you call and schedule..and if you acquire a dd214 anything during the 2 years the 10 points are awarded.

You do not call them to schedule the bilingual test. I received an email from HR last month with them asking me to confirm a time and date provided by them. It stated that if I did not respond to the email then I would not be able to claim those points. I took the test a week after the email was sent. I do not know if everyone on the list was hit. I make 344 on the list, currently waiting on the results. They told me it would take a few weeks to hear back. The list that they had that consisted of about 30 people and 12 didn't show up (they had the list sitting on the table). This was for the Spanish.

My buddy must have slipped up on his email or never received it..that's awesome you were contacted I hope them points give you a bump I'm suprised I made it to where I was at without any points at all..I wonder if what I was told about them replacing people who quit the academy are replaced like in the past. That's also a step forward as well. End of the day it's all a waiting game.

When I went I was given a sheet of paper to look at for one minute. That paper consisted of several paragraphs some in English and some in Spanish. You will be testing for English and whatever other language you told them you can speak, they will be testing your fluency in both. There was a panel of three individuals sitting across from me directing me when to read each section. The test itself basically is reading the paragraph in whatever language it appears and translating it.
There were no Spanish speaking panel members in the room and the HR members didn't speak or understand Spanish either. What they did was record everything that I said and sent that tape off somewhere to decide whether I will pass or fail.

They do typically replace people that drop within the first week or so. They budget for a certain number of cadets, so they try to replace quitters when they can (when they believe the replacements will be able to get up to speed).

As far as another class this year, Car 1 asked council for 40 more FFs for FY 2018, which begins July 1, so I would assume there will be another class sometime late this fall or next spring.

They do need to fit an FSP class in there somewhere, although with these smaller class sizes, they could easily run that concurrent with a FF class.

It was completely random. Each paragraph had its own subject.

Does anyone know when the revised list will be out? I'm curious to see what my rank will be after the people get the extra points that were never granted.
