  • Jon_rhinesmith :Yes, that is the book we use. I would highly recommend if your inline for next class getting a jump on it if you can.

@NickJoseph: We use "my brady Lab" Its where all homework and practice quizes are and they seem to prepare us pretty well.

PhilaFF10 The original 104 was 100 PFD & 4 Upper Darby guys. PFD dropped 2 cadets so far, they were not replaced. From what I have heard, there are plans for July/Aug class. Not sure how that will play out if the Coronavirus stuff continues, I personally do not feel that will effect it though.

I have a 5 next to my ranking as well. I was also pushed back about 20 spots since the results were initially released. Just waiting to hear when the next class orientation will be.

Hey man, Im in acad now. I asked one of our instructors if there is another class after ours. Was told September they have plans for another one. I would think orientation will be June or July. Our whole process moved really fast (orientation Jan and began class March)

I would highly suggest getting a jump on PT. We run 2-3 out of our 4 day tour. One day is a long 3 mile run (The pace isnt fast, its a cadence run) and the other two days are shorter approx 1-1.5 mile run followed by bodyweiht/sandbag workouts. The last day of our tour we just get destroyed with pushups, burpees, lunges, sprints around the workout area, etc. (They really hammer us the last day is seems like lol) We started with 20lb sandbag and then after few weeks they had us increase them (We had to make our own bags. Trashbag, sand or rocks than duct tape the **** out of the outside)

I also mentioned in another post, consider getting a jump on reading the EMS book, the class moves super fast. Pre hospital emergency care 11tth edition is the book.. Lmk if you have any other questions and good luck. Ill keep my ear out for anything on the upcoming class. I was in this position on the previous list I know it sucks waiting and not much info. Just be ready the process moves fast once it begins.

                      • Looks like no increase for the FF budget next year after all, so $5 million less than anticipated. Wonder if this affects upcoming academy classes.

                            • Also potentially impactful. Does this mean that people high on the list who live in Jersey or the burbs are no longer eligible?

I pray that's not the case. Maybe I'll try and email HR.
