If everything goes well I'll be taking a cpat for a different department that same day.
It's a shot in the dark but if you are by any chance referring to Dallas, TX you can take it on the 7th.

Same here. Stoked I got it in, Pretty broad explanation of the test material. Has anyone taken it before on here and know what to expect?

no word yet... If you go on governmentjobs.com and login and click application status, it'll show you where you're at in the process. it's still just showing application received.

Did I shoot myself in the foot?

    Hi there,

I was lucky enough to get my application in at 8:01am.

I feel that I might have shot myself in the foot.

On the supplemental question, I had answered NO to the question asking if I've ever been Fired or asked to Resign from a job. I had been working for a tech company in sales and was laid off as a result of my sales figures not meeting expectations.

I know how detail oriented this job requires you to be and am fearful that this could cause my application to get removed.

Should I reach out to the HR person and inform them that I had made a mistake in stating NO, or just explain it in person IF/WHEN I move forward?

In the application I did list the job in question and had explained that I had been let go for the reasons above.

    Your input is appreciated.

    Take care,
    RR

I only listed my academy and my EMT cert.
I thought it said only list the certs that are necessary to apply for the position....?

I've done a couple of these before (Newport Beach, Riverside, Ventura, etc.), and they always seem to fill up in under 5 minutes. I've missed one before, so I wasn't going to let it happen again today. Next time around, make sure you have your application done with all attachments already uploaded. Also, take a look at the supplemental questions beforehand so you don't even have to think when you get to them...

I got mine in at 8:02, and I'm sure there were plenty of people as prepared as I was.

I don't necessarily like it when departments do this, because the most qualified applicants aren't necessarily the ones who get to apply, it's the most computer savvy, the fastest typers, or best internet connections!!!

Barely got mine in on time.
Had it filled out, answered the supplemental questions and nervously waited for everything to go through.

I believe it closed in under 5 minutes.

400 applicants. Heard they're looking to hire six.

    Good luck to everyone.

Looks like it was closed in 5 minutes. My app was filled out ahead of time. Answered a few supplemental questions and clicked submit.
