Seattle Fire Dept. Information

Hello! My name is Mike and I'm from Denver Colorado. I just got invited to take the written exam for the Seattle Fire Dept. and I was wondering if there are any Seattle firefighters out there or if there are any people who know the department well that would be willing to give me a little information. I know here in Denver they prefer military backgrounds to medical backgrounds so I was wondering what types of candidates the city looks for and what life is like as a Seattle firefighter. Thanks for any info!

I'm also from Denver (Lakewood actually) but I live in Renton (WA) now. I'm also taking Seattle's test. If you get hired, you will probably end up missing the sunny days and the real winters of Colorado, but the west side of Washington is a beautiful place. Plus, Seattle is a great city.
