What else did you claim from the VA? I'm in the midst of that gaggle **** right now. I went for hearing loss, Lung Scarring, and some arthritic joints. I did two to Afghanistan and while I've had those symptoms I dared not claim it for those reasons. Well that and I like owning firearms.
Keep my updated on your fire department search, I EAS in Jan and am looking to pursue the same route. It's not the years honey, it's the mileage.

from what I have herd in my acap classes, if your medical condition or disabilities will not effect you as a firefighter, then you don't have to tell them. They cannot ask you if you have any disabilities. its illegal. the only question they can ask is if you can perform the job. at least thats what the federal labor people told us today in our acap class.-Firefighting is a lifestyle NOT a career-

I just had my medical examination this past week. I have suffered from anxiety and depression in the past. I am currently off medication and have been for a long time. I was requested to have a doctors not and wavier signed from my doctor. However, I was told that if I was currently on the medication that I would not be fit for the job. This was for a fire department in northern va. Hope this helps
