They are a very progressive department. The run engines, trucks, rescue companies and also medic units, aka ambulances.

They are one of several major departments in the Central Virginia region.

There may be a rule, that if hired, you will have 30 to 60 days to obtain a valid Virginia operators license.

You may want to ask the county hr folks about this.

Yeah most places don't mind as long as you are willing to obtain it by appointment and have don't have suspended privileges in VA.

just called HR. You must have valid drivers license to test. out of state license are fair game but must be able to obtain VA drivers license once employed. she couldn't give me a time frame

You have 60 days as per the Commonwealth of Virginia, Department of Motor Vehicles.

This rule supersedes all others within the state.

I don't see how it could hurt your chances. I could see it hurting your wallet (travel expenses, etc.)
