They are a very progressive department. The run engines, trucks, rescue companies and also medic units, aka ambulances.

They are one of several major departments in the Central Virginia region.

Look for BoxAlarm in these fourms. He can give you a better picture of the department as he has great knowledge of them.

Get your application in and be govern by what they tell you.

      Good luck!!

Hey bud, that is a requirement for most Virginia departments.

You have a bad driving record, they don't want you.

There may be a rule, that if hired, you will have 30 to 60 days to obtain a valid Virginia operators license.

You may want to ask the county hr folks about this.

Yeah most places don't mind as long as you are willing to obtain it by appointment and have don't have suspended privileges in VA.

You have 60 days as per the Commonwealth of Virginia, Department of Motor Vehicles.

This rule supersedes all others within the state.

Just put in an application, I wonder if being from Texas hurts the chances?
Anyway it's worth any shot I can give it

I don't see how it could hurt your chances. I could see it hurting your wallet (travel expenses, etc.)
