Anyone applying to Carmel Fire Rescue? Accepting apps. until Dec. 31st... Written around Jan. 11th 2011.


Pretty nice department from what Ive seen, search "Carmel Fire Dept." on Youtube... they have the black turnouts like Chi Town too.

I'll be applying, unless I get hired before then. Written is Jan 8th. A little different schedule for Carmel. I know a new firefighter on there.

Im guessing they do their own academy, since there was no requirement about being IN certified in firefighting....

Also, one of the last requirements was, "Must agree to become EMT-Basic within one or two years (Cant recall exactly), and Paramedic within 5 years... Do you know if they put you through Basic, then it's up to you to go through Paramedic? Or do they put you through both classes?

I'm not sure, but I would assume they do. That would be a question to ask. I have not seen any departments around here that require FF I & II prior to appointment. The academy is done through Wayne Twp.
