Not according to firerecruit.com, hoss. The application period opens November 5th. It pays to have access to sites like firerecruit.com because they almost always post job announcements before the fire dept. doing the hiring updates their website.

Two notables have been produced from this department.

Joel Kanasky, the chauffeur of R-1 in manhattan.

Andy Fredericks, who eventually made it on the FDNY. Andy went on to become a very well known and enthusiastic instructor. Having served in both engine and ladders Andy found his true love as an engine man and got the best of both worlds in the squad, where he was most happy. Andy's passion was engine company ops and he was a huge advocate of smooth bores. RIP brother you will be missed by all. Every year, the FDIC is not the same without you. Superb man.

Joel and Andy were from the Alexandria VA fire department.
