Anyone that applied for the Senior Cadet position get an e-mail today? My application status is still not available. Anyone know whats going on here?

Im in the same boat Phelly. No email for the Fire Cadet Senior status. Got an email with the preparation guide for the Cadet position.

I applied for the Cadet Senior position and got my study guide and password today. My status on the Senior still says "applications no longer being accepted" but my understanding is they are going to review the apps over the next couple of weeks and send emails to those that are qualified. It's not gospel, but that is my understanding. Somebody correct me if I am wrong..... Looking forward to meeting you guys/gals there, until then stay safe.

Anyone take the prac test that was provided?? I got 65 out of 70... Its guna be tough boys.. id say only a 96+ advances...?

I took the practice test and got 68 of the 70. Look forward to testing with everyone. Stay safe out there.

The test is going to be simple enough... You just have to be carfully to not make careless mistakes. I shouldnt have missed any questions at all, i just need to be patient on the real thing

If I read correctly, the cognitive portion of the test (which is the only part the practice exam covers) is pass/fail anyhow. They are scoring on the personality portion and the oral interview.

I read that too, but somwhere i noticed that you will advance with a "pass" but if you dont score in the high 90's that your over all score with the other test and interview, just wont be enough to be hired. In 2008 a test score of 96 was the lowest of the ones hired.

AFD's Test...

How do those that took AFD's Writtten feel it went?

I feel mine went well, but these kinds of Tests are hard to judge since it's based more on your personality. Anybody else have a different opinion?

Any rumors on when the next round of testing is going to be? All I got from a Rep. from H.R. was that the CPAT has to be executed after the 1st of February. Can anybody confirm this, or also heard this?

How did the exam go for you? We had about 2 dozen from my department take the test.

Yep, that's me..... I subscribed since that's where I want to end up. Thought process there is the learn as much about the differences between Texas and Cali.

I felt it went well, but those kinds of Test I always hesitate run around saying "it went great..." I gave it my best, answered honestly and the reading comp/problem solving part I know I did very well on. At this point, as I see it it's up to how the Department programmed the answers to the personalities that they want for their FFs.

I took a test similar to this about 5 years ago and messed-up my answer sheet for the FF General Knowledge section which threw my answers off, so this time I was pretty particular on where I put my answers. My .02 is that if it's meant to be then it'll happen, if not no problem I have a Job. I love my Department and love the Guys I work with; I "get to come to work" instead of "having to go to work."

Thanks... Two more days until the big day... The paper after the Written says they're going to post by Jan. 20th by 1800. So I'll either be smiling HUGE or bummed... Either way though, I've still got my Job so it's all good.

We will see in a couple of hrs who qualified for the written exam! I will admit,, I am very nervous, this is my first time going through a hiring process for a fire department. I do not know exactly how to prepare myself for it... I took the practice exam and got 5 wrong, but I understand why I missed them and I feel it can be fixed. We'll see how this goes....
