Anyone know if there is an age cutoff? One of my buddies in my medic class submitted all required paperwork and did not get invited to test. He is 39 years old. The other potential disqualifier is that he has a minor criminal charge from 20 years ago... Any input?

If this was an over-sight, do you think it's too late to call HR and get things squared away?

He's a good guy and smart - but he keeps getting down on himself because of his age and past. I'm trying to keep him positive. Thanks for any constructive input.

I am 43 and got a letter, if the minor charge isn't a disqualifier I don't see what would be holding him back.

I see you're from MO. You coming all the way out for the test?

How was the test for you guys? It seemed much harder than the Montgomery county test. I really wasn't a fan of the questions where you chose 3 answers.

I thought the test was easier compared to Howard County. It was the same type test that we took in Prince William County last spring (09'). I'm surprised that the physical agility test is in 2 weeks with no mentoring. Good thing I started working out earlier this summer...

I was reading the PAT paper they gave us. Let me ask you this. For the first step are we going up 6 stairs, then down 6 then up 6, then down 6, then up 6 then down 6? That seems way to easy, I must be reading it wrong... Also, did she say they were hiring 25?

6 flights of 8 each 3 times so 144 steps up total.

And yes they said a class of 25 around april 1st, and then another one a couple weeks after of 10, which I think will include both new hires and people who've dropped out of the first class.

I believe they said 25 for the first class, then 11 in the 2nd class + anyone who drops out of the first class. Their intentions are to hire and maintain 36 personnel from my understanding.

Does this mean we can run up the stairs since it's not a stairmill like the standard CPAT? That would be nice...

Does anyone know how many people actually showed up to test yesterday? Thanks!

Not many. I remember her saying that over 600 applied and half of that didn't do the second part of the application process. Chances of being hired are pretty good

Yeah - if I recall correctly she said 684 applicants, about 400 of which didn't complete 1 of the 2 steps (leaving roughly 275 to test). I was just curious how many of those who received letters actually showed up.

Also, it seemed like a few people finished way too fast. The guy next to me finished before the 1 hour mark which I thought was crazy considering it was a 140 question test with a lot of reading comprehension and decision making...
