Peoria, IL Fire test

Anybody out there know how many opening Peoria is trying to fill, and how many people are taking test?

I happened to ask the Human Resources Coordinator this same question and she said...

"We are not sure of how many Firefighters we will hire. It would depend on the budget. You would be in an eligibility pool that is good for two years. When the Chief is ready to hire, he will use the candidates in the pool."

Peoria Firefighters took a voluntary wage freeze last year to prevent layoffs and they are still fighting a very uphill battle. I think they hired the last 9 off of the last list that was extended for over a year this spring. So there probably won't be another class for quite a while.
