Hey just checking to see if anybody else received their background interview paper work from memphis. Sounds like they are starting to hire off the 2009 list once again. I received mine a couple of days ago. It's been awhile since anybody has posted anything on memphis. Let's hear good news or any news. Good luck

got mine too. i applied for medic and as a recruit. missed out on the medic spot by a few last time. then they decided not to hire any more medics. so now they are just doing recruits, and i have no idea where i stand there. at least i dont have to head down for another cpat. but hopefully this will be good news. they already did my background check, but want to do it again.

FYI, you would be required to become a paramedic within three years of hire.

Yes. They are only hiring around 30 for Jan class, and they are testing around 200.

The word I get is we are hiring 100 in 2011...70 in the April class and 30 in the Oct class...hope this helps

That is what I have heard. They plan on putting some new units on the street.

Just spoke with HR. Even if you have already passed CPAT, you have to retest. They said large class in April, thats all they know. I still dont understand why they won't hire more medics, and yes I say that because I am on both lists.

If you are on the fire/medic list, its done. They aren't taking anymore from that list.

I haven't heard a word about another medic list. I am very confused by it, actually. They had 47 apply for medic, and 1,000 for recruit. So now they are just taking recruits but they have to become certified medics within 3 years. If you test for medic eventually, yes you do already have to have a license.

Thanks Capt. Didn't see the Notification card while I was going through their site earlier. Ok big league thanks. I take it their not establishing a new fire/recruit lis as they already have on in place? Sorry about all the questions.
