  • Pay Per Run

Do any of you get paid per run? if so if you wouldnt mind how much is that? I get $5.00 for each run and also on squad. Actual FF get $10 per run.

Our whole dept. gets $5 per run, it doesn't matter if your a junior or not. We also get $5 per meeting we attend.

They only pay we recieve is the satasfaction of helping another human in their time of need. Isn't that the point of being a volunteer firefighter?

Nothing, purely volunteer, as Jun18or said for the rewards.

They arent vollies then. FF's who get paid per run are not volunteer.

I dont want to start a pd/volly fight, but I never did say anything about being paid or volunteer, I simply asked how much you get paid, if you do?

The only reason we get paid because they use to be short staffed and that was the incentive to show up. I don't do it for the money I do it because I love doing what I do.

Same here, usually when someone askes me about being on the fire department there first question is always how much do you get paid? Well I tell them then there all like man that pay sucks? Then I just simply tell them its not about the money and all, Heck alot of people get nothing, were just a little fortunite(spelling) to get something.

So guys dont get off on the wrong hand thinknig I am in it for the money. Heck when I first joined I didnt even know they got paid.

Pay, money - RUNS, what's that? Our city doesn’t allow us to go on runs. We don't even know there's a fire until we see it on the news.

We have talked about doing paid runs. Its just so hard to get people during the days that a little extra incentive may be needed.
