My Explorer Post is in desperate need of fundrasing. We get all these ideas but our advisors think that we should do something thats never been done. but we can't think of anything. If you have ideas i would like to hear about them.

why not jump out infront of speeding vehicles, that way you can SUE THEM! just kidding everyone.
Something that hasn't been done before...hmm...can't think of anything that hasn't been done before.
My department has about 8 hoagie sales a year (4 spring, 4 fall) and we have a huge town wide fund drive that usually starts in october. we hand out letters to all residents that come with return envelopes to send your donation too.
It does help

Hmm, as for anything new, and unheard of. I cant think of any. Because if I did, I would do them myself. lol.
As for what I've done:
Car Washes
Popcorn Sales (Through BSA)
Lil Ceasar's Pizza Kits
Chicken Barbeque
Block Dances
Tractor Pull
Bake Sales
Every tried those things where you put yourself up for auction amongst screaming guys and girls? I am sure thats been done before, but it is always hilarious!

We did a carwash, in about 2 hours made over 200 dollars... we did a ice cream smorg. 50/50 raffel on the side... we do dues each month, each member puts in 5 bux... i dono...
I havent failed, I've found 10,000 ways that don't work.
It was a thought, you said you were desperate for money. I would be against trying it. IDK, must be a perspective thing.
Anyways, we made $400 from a four hour car wash. $1400 from little ceasar's pizza kit. Like $1000 from the pancake breakfast. And a couple hundred dollars from the others.
Every other year, we sell water on the behalf of the Firemens' Benevolent at a Rodeo. They give us half of the profits. Its a three day event and it tends to be terribly hot outside--so we come out pretty good. Last time we did it, I believe we raised over $1,200 for ourselves. We alternate with the other Explorer post in my department every year. This upcoming spring, its our turn again.
That is our only means of fundraising really. The Benevolent and the Union also help out by donating big-ticket items that we cannot get through the fire department. We got brand new tents, one of those automatic pop-up tents, and T-shirts through them.
We also collect monthly dues from our members, $4.00 a month. This is an option you may also want to consider based on the size of your post. I would try and see if your department has a union or benevolent that would be willing to give you guys a hand.
On what MFD said, be careful with that auction thing... the world's oldest profession isn't exactly legal!
Only kidding of course.....
BTW, I've never seen a Fire/EMS post that is all girls, way to go. Most of the ones down here tend to have women in the minority.
this is a cool fundraiser my class is trying on homecoming-
we got a local car dealership to donate a car going to the scrap yard, we are going to sell hits at the car, for each dollar you spend, you get a hit @ the car
