We use Cairns that seems to hold up well. The Globe stuff seems to have gotten more shoddy as they struggle to mass produce instead of quality produce. THe plant is just down the road a piece from me and the last I heard from a friend that worked there in the shipping department they were only paying like $6hr (not getting good employees do to low pay) and deliveries were delayed 6 months or more.
I believe we are going to Bristol or Basofil? soon. Let you know how the guys like that later.Proud to be an American, Union Firefighter!Comment

THanks DFDEX. Is Bristol the stuff with the silvery inside lining? I only saw one set of the demo stuff very briefly.
"We've had some problems with it, but nothing we cant handle."
Why should your company have to "handle" it? You ordered gear that you expect to be more then "OK", it should be expected to protect you well. If you have a problem get with the manufacturer so it can be rectified, don't settle for poor service.Proud to be an American, Union Firefighter!Comment

I do not know. The only cra...errr..Bristol I have seen is the stuff a explorer got from his uncle in Boston.
Your right again frd45,you got problems with your gear you get on the phone and make either Bergon Fire supply or Globe get down there and make it right!Comment

The problems i stated have NOTHING to do with the protection part of it, well atleast the fire protection part. Its the stitching on the reflective strips on the jackets that we've had some problems with. I'm not sure if that's just from use or what, the gear is only about 5 or 6 years old.
The Globe gear we have offers us great fire protection. Just clarifying that.Firefighter, Volunteering since Oct 2001

we're not going to take any off. Actually, we're ordering 6 new sets of gear. Some have outgrown there gear and some just need it. I'm not sure who we're getting the new gear from (probably Globe). The current gear that needs new stitching will be taken care of by a professional company.Firefighter, Volunteering since Oct 2001
