  • IAFF - Schaitberger vs Sharpton

Anyone catch IAFF General President Harold Schaitbergers appearance on Hardball with Chris Matthews???

The Democratic Party ought to be real proud of their boys Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson and the other idiots in CT who sent a Billionaire jerkoff with no allegiance to organized labor or the Fire Service to the November Election for Senator in CT.

The interview speaks for itself...... but its almost laughable what a public *** kicking Gen. Pres. Schaitberger gave Sharpton for the democrats abandonment of Joe Lieberman. We'll see who wins in November....... Ive got a good hunch Joe Lieberman is gonna put a stomping on Ned "Playboy" Lamont, and the support of the IAFF will be a principle reason why.

Check out the video link on www.iaff.org

Just curious, but were the local IAFF's in CT there to support Lieberman in the primary contest that he lost?

Bones, we were all over it. Senator Joe and the General President even made a stop at our HQ firehouse in July, while out on the campaign trail. They came by with the President of our State association, as well as several campaign staffers. He made several other stops at fire-service related events around the state that day. Our state association is on board with our good friend Senator Lieberman. We will continue to support him because he supports us and our issues, plain and simple. If you check out the CT state assoc. website, rumor has it that there is a picture of a really handsome, manly firefighter shaking hands with Harold. UPFFA.org, or UPFFAC.org I think is the address.

Wow, names like Sharpton and Jackson make my skin crawl. I can't stand pluralistic self promotion. As a registered republican and a conservative I always feel conflicted. I will only vote for a candidate that reflects my beliefs regardless if it benefits my pocket book. I pay my union dues and vote in elections but you will never hear me complain about my salary or benefits because I usually don't vote along union recomendations. But! If I see a candidate that the union supports who happens to represent my views(Lieberman) I'm in Republican or not.

Could not agree more :-) listening to the two of them blab is like listening to Ann Coulter and the other talking heads on Fox.

lieutleroy140, so then that begs the question from this uniformed person...if the IAFF was so strongly behind him in the CT primary....and he lost...what will be the difference next time he runs?

PS - can we trade? You take Corzine and we'll take Lieberman. Please?

Bones, me thinks that Joe will will the election in November because the Republican candidate, a guy named Alan Schlesinger, (who happens to be from just across the river from me, in Derby, BTW) is only pulling down like 4% of the vote, in the latest Quinnippiac University poll. He's so bad off, the Republican party is sort of ignoring him cause he has no shot whatsoever. There was a recent story about him using an alias and racking up big gambling debts in one of the casinos. All the moderate and conservative Republicans will go for Joe. Remember, Ned Lamont didn't beat him by that much, and only registered Dems could vote in the primary. The union is still behind Joe. BTW, didja check out those pics I was talking about? And as for Jon Corzine, I'll take Tom Kean...I can still hear him. New Jehzee and you.....puhhhhhfect togetha.

No, you can't have Kean. We want him back. His son was here couple weeks ago campaigning for US Senate.

(saw the pics, wondering about a long distance trip for a softball match!)

Why does someone from New Hampshire give a F' who represents Conneticut in the united States Senate? They won't work for you, they will work for the people of CT, who ever it may be.

That is a load of horse hockey. You mean to tell me that the 100 only worry about what is going on in their own state? Last time I checked, the legislative branch passed laws that effect all of us.

And your state gets a 2% say in that body of the legislature. Stick to making sure your own representation is good and let others find folks that represent THEIR ideas and values.

In the halls of the House and Senate... All those 2%'s add up to something!
