Not sure if this belongs here and you can move it if need be and I know you can't give out any legal advice but I wanted to test the waters and see if anyone has ran into the same issue. With a lot of research I can't seem to find any close answers to my question. Recently our fire company found themselves to be outside the FLSA 207k exemption. This meant that they needed to start paying overtime after 40 hours like a normal business. We have historically worked 24/72's. With this transition they have changed our pay week from Monday 0700 to Monday 0700. They moved it to Sunday 1900 to Sunday 1900. That cuts our Sunday shift into two twelve hour shifts to save them on the overtime. Is it within bounds for them to change one shift a week like that to decrease their overtime? Thanks!
