Tech school can be daunting. I had a just completed my awareness/operations prior to going. It really felt like a lot of information being thrown at me. I felt much more confident about hazmat in general after completing the course. The biggest thing I can tell you is to refresh what you learn each month. Take 10 or 15 minutes to review once a week. Its really not asking much and it will keep your skills up. Overall I'm extremely glad I did tech school.Fire Service Interview questions
- The blog that has REAL interview questions for firefighters, Engineers, Lieutenants, and Captains !

the federal goverment also has programs that will send you tech school for free. i use www.preparingtexas.org to find the details.

2 weeks in and loving it. Crammed in about 5 hours a night the first week with all the chemistry. After a getting a good base it seems to only be getting somewhat easier. I have found that you need to refresh yourself on the previous week before coming back to class. The 2nd week I was putting in about 2-3 hours a night hitting the books and I seem to be grapsing most of everything (I hope). 2 more weeks and I will be a tech. Can't wait to get on a team!
