    Forget about an education.

First, think about changing your screen name from "teddybear22" to "IFightWhatYouFearDragonSlayerHero22" will help greatly. Also buy as many Absolute Firefighter, 100% Up In Smoke, and You Can't Force Me To Save Hot Chicks: I Volunteer t-shirts as possible... interview boards like to see people dedicated enough to wear them. You might want to get a Maltese tattoo while you are at it, make sure to include blue flames and a Tasmanian Devil in the art work.

Stickers... you need to get at least 5 fire/EMS related stickers on the back window of your pickup truck. If you don't have a pick up, buy one, a Ford F-250 at minimum, deisel as gas motors are for pus sies.

Hope all this helps greatly in landing a job, it should at least erase the stigma of your screen name. At least it will tell the quality of individual you are to perspective employers.

Depending on where you are, you ought to be able to take fire classes without being on the job.
