  • Online fire certs?

I have seem plenty of online colleges for degrees in fire science. this is the only thing i have been able to find for just the fire 1 and 2 certs. http://www.trainingdivision.com/Academy.asp

Im already a full time paramedic and I would like to do this online so i dont have to change my job. the thing about that school i posted is theres a 2 week boot camp in texas i dont think i can do.

    thanks in advance

You can't get legitimate Fire I & II certs online if you're referring to the standard NFPA 1001 Fire I & II. You can shortcut some class time, but you can't do the entire program.

The Code is more what you'd call "guidelines" than actual rules.

2 options take the class you referenced and find some way to do the two weeks
      The place is legit

Other with paramedic some cities will hire you and put you through the fire side, which is the easy part

Check the web site weekly and you might even call and ask if they will put you in the academy

      Check Bedford for example

      Sweetwater also!

Before you spend money on some online class like that, make sure to check with the Michigan fire commision to make sure it will actually apply towards your firefighter 1 and or 2, I know Michigan is pretty strict on it and people can have trouble getting commision to transfer over to Michigan, I use to live their as well.

Out here,(outside Philly) Bucks County Community College runs a 182 Hour FFI during the summer. Its Mon-Fri and lasts for 5 weeks. May be tough to get 5 weeks off, but you could do some switch's if need be.
A Fire Chief has ONLY 1 JOB and that's to take care of his fireman. EVERYTHING else falls under this.

Of course there is quite a bit of variance, but usually FF1,FF2, EMT with Paramedic preferred. As competitive as the market is now, having an Associates Degree goes a long way as well. HTH, Mike
