I have been reading some information about the hiring process for the firefighter job in Antarctica and had a couple of questions that I hope someone can answer. Everything I have read has been about the experence of being hired through Raytheon who used to have the Antarctic contract. Now the contract is under PAE. In the old days under Raytheon everything was done out in Colorado where their polar headquarters were located. With the new contract going through PAE, would everything (ie testing, breifings ect...) still be done out in Colorado or would it be done at PAE which is located in Virginia? I was not sure if the USAP/NSF was still using the Colorado location as their deployment point. I have e-mailed PAE but have never received any response. Does anyone who has experence with PAE know? Also I read that the USAP/NSF was using the DIA (Denver International Airport) for ARFF training/refresher prior to deployment, so it would make sense that the USAP was still using the colorado location.
