I keep posting replies on various threads on here and none of them are appearing. When will the moderators stop moderating my posts? Does moderate mean delete? I've only been a member for four days. How long am I moderated for? Help me! I want to express my opinions!
I doubt this thread will even appear today, if at all.

Not that I'm complaining...but perhaps your avatar/picture has something to do with it?

Although I have not searched for any of your posts, this would make the second one I've seen/read this week. Coupled with the fact that your avatar was displayed on the first post and on this one.... all would seem well. Which is a lot better than many other new folks can say, since it usually takes about 10 days or so before the WT "unlock" a profile and allow avatars and other bits to be displayed.
On a more personal note, I am a guy, and so will refrain from comment regarding your choice of photo...... :o

I think Pink PPE would be great look for you. :p
Might need to watch the lace frills though, NFPA would need to be checked.

Well, I will comment then.
This is why women aren't taken seriously in this business and by this business, I mean the fire service.
You're from the UK (at least that's what I think I read), I'm guessing they look at things a little differently there.

If you look at the profile there is no fire service affiliation or experience, and her intrests are creative writing. So I'm pretty sure she is not representing the fire service in any way, so I wouldn't worry about being takin seriosly.

Yet another example of the decline of this site.
Funny how words can get people booted off this site or suspended, but people posting about their Playboy pictorials or where to buy their posters, or people posting links to semi nude women websites, or the avatar of MaryJane69 (nice completely innocent connotation from that name by the way) don't even draw a sniff from the webteam. Look I am no prude but if i want to look at porn there are somewhere around 47 billion other websites I can go to.
I won't apologize for stating emphatically that I believe this is inappropriate material for this site and it should be removed as quickly by the web team as some of the appropriate topics and material have been.

The UK Fire Service has sucessfully recrutied and retained women Ff's for well over 30 years now and has one of the best equality and diversity track records in the World. The London Fire Brigade has almost 200 Operational women Ff's among its 7000 Operational personnel in all ranks up to Deputy Asst Commissioner.
So yes...we do look at things a little differently 'over here'

Well, I wasn't sure if the avatar pic would be allowed on here or not. If you all think it's too racy I will happily alter it to something more apropriate. I just like the pic that's all. If it mean's nothing I say will be taken seriously so be it. And yes, my posts have now all been allowed and are visible. Woo hoo!

I like the picture. She's pretty and she looks pretty good. I don't mind being represented by that pic. Aside from that, I don't really know why I picked that picture.
I came across that pic months ago when I googled corsets (or similar) cause I was thinking of buying one. The picture took my fancy and I half inched it.

Come on now! You changed to a North American wildfire shot? Get something from Britain!!! Anyway, why get too serious, this thread is in the Off Duty bucket, and should be fun whenever possible... The female FF's in my Brigade are as bad as the male FF's - you can't laugh when at a job, so you have to laugh when you're not. ;)

I think it's quite a beautiful picture, very artistic. So it's a wildfire shot! I love America. If I don't want to put up a british picture I'm not going to. Do you know how hard it is for me to find a nice fire related pic for my avatar? What I'd really like to have is a nice shot of an American fire truck. I love fire engines and american ones look bigger than british to me. (I don't know if they actually are!) Fire engines are great, big, red and beautiful. I probably sound like a crazy to go on about them like that, sorry.

Here, I had this, you can borrow it if you want it. It isn't exactly a whole engine, but it's close. Just needs resizing.

Yes, American trucks ar a lot bigger than British ones, but always remember - size isn't everything, it's not what you've got but how you use it that matters!!! (Yes, we have smaller trucks in Aussie too, similar to British and other Euro trucks)
PS. I agree. That's a nice pic - though I always wondered if the deer were courtesy of Photoshop.

I know not all American fire engines are red. I prefer the red ones. I'm glad British fire engines are red, I can't imagine having a yellow or white or whatever one. And I don't mean to offend any of you who don't have a red one. No, size isn't everything. But I won't go any further with that. ;)

I think the most bizare paint schemes I've seen are forest (or was that HUNTER - they are rednecks of course LOL) green from Manassas City FD, and purple. I have not actually seen the purple one, but somebody posted a pic here in the forums somewhere a few years ago. Can't recall the dept it was from though.

The Elk picture was taken by John McColgan, FBAN on Joe Stam's Type 1 Alaska IIMT. He took the photo on August 6, 2000 at the East fork of the Bitterroot River where it crosses under Hwy 93 near Sula MT.
