Methinks perhaps that lads were wearing a kilt made from PBI?

If I could upload video here, I would show you several brothers wearing "Nomex kilts" at the IAFF memorial, in the Springs.
Not at the service, but on the street at night. They're kilts, they looked like they were made from turnout gear, they had reflective tape, and it was a nice touch.
I also have no idea where you get such an item.

I believe the brothers you saw were the Palm Beach County P&D. The kilts are made of tan PBI.
If you make FDIC this year you will see more of us. We at the Indy Fire P&D have been working with the same kilt maker that the PBC boys did having our own made up in black PBI.
The PBI was donated by Safety Componenets Inc, PBI's manufacturer. The striping for ours was donated by 3M. So all we have had to pay for was to have the kilts sewn. We do have some extra material and have thought of doing a fundraiser for the band with some of that, but it has yet to be decided as we would have to clear that through the sponsors.
If you would like more info on the kilts themselves please feel free to contact me of list macleod348@att.net

Hey BLS,
Cool photo's. Thanks for sharing. Pretty cool idea on someone's part to think of making a kilt out of PBI/Advance/Nomex.

The kilts are cool, but I've got to agree with the Capt. Who is the attractive young female?

I should see both Khristy and Ferg (he's that guy in most of those pictures) in Chicago for the Southside parade in a couple weeks. I'll be sure to tell them you guys said hi.

As promised, here is the 2008 Orlando Fire Conference Fire Up The Night video.
They didn't get all of the pipes and drums performance in there, and the sound kind of sucks, but you still get the feeling.
And you can (briefly) see me around 6:35 (Look for the hott guy holding up his hat:cool: ), and fellow forum member rpferry in the beginning, doing the pumper pull.

Cheffie, my pleasure.
If you have a myspace, you can add many different public safety pipes and drums bands.

I don't have a myspace. I've never even been to the site. Maybe one of these days but I barely have time to keep up with work, school, and the occasional post here (and IACOJ). My posting time comes and goes in spurts.
