Possibly Relocating to Ventura County

I might be relocating to Ventura County from Connecticut. What are job prospects like. I have heard mixed stories. I am Firefighter I (NFPA 1001) Firefighter II (NFPA 1001), Hazmat Tech (NFPA 472) and EMT-B. I also have confined space, elevated rescue and a handful of other certs. Currently I work on a career dept in CT. I am not opposed to going to medic school either. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A lot of the smaller Departments are looking for Medics and offer laterals, Orange County did a few years ago. Medic school would be a plus
