Hey guys I am really not sure where to go with this..... we got our grant for a new engine. It should be here in a few weeks. I need to sell off two of our current vehicles... one is an out of service 1967 ford which does not run. The other is a 1986 E One Hurricane which is still in service. I looked at ebay as an option but there is no real market for the ford. The E One has some marketability but i would think going with an outsided vendor who knows who to call might be a little better. I did some googling and found a couple outfits, but need to know if any of you have experience with any dealers like fire trader or whomever, particularly in northern illinois, in the chicagoland area. Please let me know what I can do... Thanks!!!

What did you end up buying? ;)
Try this outfit, he's out of Illinois and done well for my department selling rigs. I know of other departments that I've sold rigs to that have had good luck with him as well, though I had nothing to do with the fact that they chose him as their broker.

over the last couple years I have sold a 1965 Crown fire coach & an old dodge power wagon on E-bay for our Dept both brooght good money 1 went to LA and the other to Washington State, granted they were both collectables, you might be suprised on the 1967 depending on the shape some one might be interested in restoring it. When I last listed them it was only like 40.00 for the initial listing, not bad to find out i guess

Thanks for the replies. We ended up siging a contract for the HME. I guess time will tell on quality ;) The dealer really loaded it up with stuff for us so I think things will work out well.
I sent an email to bp and never got a reply. I found M3 fire apparatus in TN and they seem to be interested in purchasing the. I sent them a couple emails with pics so I'm just waiting for a reply.
The old ford looks like it is going to the scrap yard. There is just no market for it, even for restoration. We would tarp it and hold on to it longer but have no where to put it.
Thanks again for teh replies!
