I want to pass this on about my fire chief from Kankakee Township. Your prayers are needed.
This is a repost from the secret list:
On Friday, February 1st, 2008 Kankakee Township (IL) FPD Chief Matthew Hubly, age 43, was attending a FD related meeting...the chief was previously at the fire station shoveling snow. While at the meeting the Chief became warm and diaphoretic. They decided to take the chief to the hospital to get him checked out. As they left the site, the chief became unresponsive. An ambulance was called. The fire district's ambulance provider was unavailable and the Kankakee City FD was called....and arrived on the scene and performed defibrillation. The Chief was transported to the hospital in full cardiac arrest. He was revived and taken to the cath lab. He went into cardiac arrest two more times at the hospital. He is currently on a ventilator and unresponsive at Provena St. Mary's Hospital in Kankakee. Thoughts and Prayers are needed for Chief Hubly.
UPDATE: He has developed a blood clot in his right atrium. His platelet count is a little low. They are waiting for it to increase so they can put him on heparin to dissolve the clot.
