Good luck to all of the local departments trying to get a referendum through to increase funding. We (North Park) have a referendum out, Pearl City, Boone District #1 (Capron Fire) and Polo. These are the ones that I know of, anyone else - the same applies to you.

Hopefully at least some of us will have some good news tonight.

Looks like Polo and Pearl City will be successful. Ours at this point is losing by 22 votes, looks like Capron has won by THREE votes according to the Rockford Star's web site.

Hopefully we'll find the votes in the last few ballots to be successful.

I was pretty surprised watching the news around here last night...out of all of the fire and EMS referendums out there, I didn't see a single one that failed. Kind of encouraging!

How did Pearl City end up? I'd like to see those guys get some good news.

We put a lot of work into getting info out to the voters this year. WE got 60% in favor.:D

Congratulations, Cap. I know how much work it can be since we did it a few years ago. It feels good to win.

We had one last night, and it passed. This should help pay for some part time staffing, which we need in a bad way. I'm completely shocked it passed, to be honest.

Other successful departments last night:

-Amboy, IL
-Win-Bur-Sew (Winnebago, IL) - This creates a full time ambulance service
-Walnut, IL
-Tri-District Ambulance (Rock City and Davis area of IL)

I'm frankly shocked that everyone was successful, and glad.
