What will happen to your dept now that Amendment 1 has passed?

From the last Union meeting possibly closing 1 firehouse and laying off anywhere from 5-8 persons to start.

Yeah Jeff, but don't forget about rolling back 2-3 Lt's to their previous positions and 2-3 drivers back to firefighters. That also equates to no promotions(not like we've had any). Hope your ready to ride the box for another 5 or so years until people start to retire. Maybe now a few more white helmets will be forced out too.

Is Miami-Dade or Palm Beach County looking at laying anyone off? If so any idea of how many.

We have heard two different things out of Palm Beach County. The first is that they found $50mil in a closet somewhere and they'll be ok. The second, which I heard yesterday from a county F/F, is that they may have to lay off somewhere around 250 people. I guess like everything else we'll just have to wait and see.
