The municipal guys run this type of question a lot, but I was curious about those of us on the industrial side.
What is the age/condition of your fire apparatus?
I have a 1991 Spartan w/2000 GPM pump. It is pretty good shape, but about to have the transfer valve replaced. Low hours, almost all training time.
I also have a 1991 Spartan 75 stick with a 2000 GPM pump. I have lots of issues with this one, including the air brake system and major issues with the steel on the boom. A UL guy came in to do the annual test on it (which had never been done) and failed it as it overheated before we could even do the visual walk down. The overheating was due to a stuck thermostat.
I am looking to replace the aerial in the next couple of years as I am looking at about $20K just to bring the aerial back into compliance. There are other factors in me wanting to replace it, but that is not the topic this survey.
