Hey guys i was on with Northeast Lakeside Fire Department in the mountain home AR area, and had been with them since may of 07'. i got my pager and gear 3 months ago.
anyways the problem i have was i was kicked off the department. what had happened was about a month ago durning a meeting night we got a medical call. well i went up to the rescue unit, to the driver and was like hey do you care if i go on the call with you. he said yeah thats fine. so i went over to the other side, and was about to get in when one of the other FF's shoved me out of the way and jumped in and went on the call. well anyways when he got back i went up to him and very nicely asked him not to shove me like that again. he got in my face put his finger on my chest and said you dont like that its just to bad ill roll your arse outside. i was like fine lets go take it up with the chief well we went over there and he wasnt there he had just left. so the capt. came up to us and was like whats going on i told him and he took the FF's side saying oh im just a probie and im not even suppose to go on calls. im not cert. with the department which i have all my FF training through the academy that says im a FF plus im EMT cert. the other FF wasnt even first responder.
which was weird because i had been given a pager radio and all my other equipment, and had gone one about a dozen calls. well anyways i went up to the fire department the other night and the cheif was there he pulled me into the office and said that he found out about the "incident" and that they had there officers meeting and wanted you off the department. they also said that you said you were gonna kick his arse which wasnt true, im just not that kind of person.
when i asked hiim if there was any other reason why i was being put off the dept., he said no.which i do believe him because i never had a problem with anything. i showed up to every meeting worked my ass off. went on ever call that i could go on, minus the medical calls because of were i lived based on the time it would take me to get to the dept. he even said that it wasnt a performance thing.
so anyways i need your guys help maybe you could fill me in on what went wrong or why it came to that. and the other guy had no disciplinary actions taken against him.
