any body using the firehouse software ems module for there patient care reports? just curious looking for some feedback

Been using it for 2 years, we have it tweeked to our liking, not too bad.

used it for a while. such a pain with all the redundancy required to complete the report. any of the new standalone softare comanies are lightyears ahead of firehouse as far as EMS reports go.

We use it. I like how well it ties into the NFIRS part of the report, saves a lot of time. Once you get it setup to your liking, its not a bad piece of software. There is some redundancy, yes, but its better than other software for our needs than other software I've seen

The cool thing with it is that you can link it to your CAD (computer aided dispatch) and it blows all of the times and units into your report. It also has a database that keeps your "regular" patient info, so you can save some time that way too. You can customize fields for billing, faxing, printing, and statistics. I know that it took some time to get ours set up the way that the department wanted it, but when you get going you can knock out a report in 10-15 minutes.

It would be nice for us. We're stuck with Jack Green's program. I've been using Firehouse for fire reports since 2001 and would love to have our ems runs on the same program. This past year, I put all of our EMS calls on our Firehouse program. I don't fill our the EMS module though, just the basic report. Then I just add a 1 sentence narrative describing the call. This makes year end reports and stats soo much easier to complete as I got everything right in front of me instead of having to go thru 2 programs.

Capt, your stuck with that program too. At work we are getting rid of it also just because of the fact that it crashes almost daily for someone in the middle of the report. We are hoping to have a new program in place shortly.
