I am a volunteer fireman in Indiana right now. My company has offered me a promotion that will take me to Illinois. I need to know if there are any volunteer departments in the area of Montgomery or Oswego and what it takes to transfer over to Illinois standards. I have been in the service now for 10 years

Depends on what area you're going to be... both those depts. have either paid on call or volunteer and have a residency. Where are you going to be, cause Sugar Grove FPD has some parts of the western portion of Montgomery and last I knew the had a 10 mile residency??? IDK the reciprocity for IL by the state fire marshal standards. If you have any other questions... I'm sure there's others on here that could help. Good luck!

Sugar Grove Fire Protection District
(630) 466-4513
(paid shifts and call backs)

Montgomery-Countryside Fire Protection District
(630) 897-0622

Oswego Fire Protecton District
(630) 554-2110
(paid shifts and call backs)

Bristol-Kendall Fire Protection District ( Yorkville and surrounding area)
(630) 553-6186
(paid shifts and call backs)

Also try Aurora Twp. Fire Protection District. They're an all volunteer organization that covers a small area off the southern tip of Aurora and Montgomery. They run about 500 calls a year and are getting busier... some of area they cover is somewhat rough. They have 2 stations...

Station 1
(630) 898-2121

Station 2
(630) 898-3222
