Marion Fire Department Test info

Does anyone know what the physical test for the Marion fire department consists of? I read on their website that they are testing in Spring 2008, and I wanted to make sure I am physically ready for the test.

Thanks for checking into it for me. Believe me, I'm not holding my breath on getting hired ANYWHERE! I'm going to give it my best effort and let the chips fall where they may. I'm 28 now, and I realize that my window of getting hired somewhere is getting smaller by the day. I'm still working on my FF2, and I only have a First Responder license thus far, so I have work to do.

I should have started walking down this career path earlier!

Know what ya mean about starting too old, but none the less I am happy doing what I am doing, the last 2 guys marion has hired paid thier own way thru ISFI fire academy previous to being hired.

Just wandering, but I was planning on applying at Marion. But why do you say good luck getting hired there? Are they just not hiring right now?

Does anyone plan on testing for Marion? I noticed in the paper that it is coming up very soon. If so, can someone possibly let me know what the physical test requirements are? I have been working out in preparation for testing, but I'd like to see if I'm where I need to be.

I will try to track that down for you,,,,,,I know we will be testeing I got word that we got a Safer grant to hire 1.....I hear marion got a safer to hire 2 but I cannot confirm that yet

2160, why do you say "good luck" at getting hired in Marion? I know it's not a huge department, but do you know something we don't? We don't want to waste our time testing if the chances are slim to none!

I have not heard of marion planning to do any hiring, unless they get a safer grant, I heard a rumor they got one but have not seen anything to confirm it yet, if I do i will let ya know

so who all tested for marion?...physical agility was last weekend I think....and they did get a SAFER hiring 3 I belive

I did, took the written last night. Interview next Tuesday. Hopefully I can get pretty high on the list.
